Time seems to stand still or go way to fast sometimes. Brian starts his 32 hour flight to Delhi tonight. Since the flight is so long, he has a hotel in Delhi for a night before continuing on to Hyderabad. We have a detailed itinerary for Brian's time at the Kiran clinic. Brian is going straight to the clinic from the airport, will meet the doctors, tour the facility and leave the all important deposit. His entire trip is going to be 8 days with only 4 of them actually in Hyderabad. The rest of the time is all traveling.
It has been really hard for me to have Brian go by himself. Through every step of our roller coaster infertility ride we have always been together which made the bad times bearable. I hate that Brian is making this trip by himself but we figured it would save us a lot of money to only have to buy one plane ticket and this way I can save up my leave to hopefully have extra time with the baby if this works.
Since Brian is the only one traveling, preparations for this trip were much faster. Brian only wants to take one carry on so I couldn't go crazy buying a bunch of gifts for our potential surrogate and her family. Instead, I bought a bracelet that I hope she likes. In two of our three previous attempts we had to have last minute replacement surrogates due to break through bleeding and I'm trying to stay emotionally detached until we find out if it works. The disappointments are just too hard otherwise.
We are both hopeful that this will be our time.
I totally understand your feelings about Brian leaving by himself. I hated it when Timmy went without me...but sometimes sacrifices must be made for pragmatic purposes.
ReplyDeleteBest of luck for the next part of the journey. I hope his trip goes smoothly and that he leaves a 'fruitful' (not fruity...hehe) deposit.
much love

I wish Brian a save travel to Hyderabad and you, Amber hang in there while waiting at home. I really hope that this time you will get good news from Kiran clinic. BTW, would you mind sharing how you came across this clinic and why you chose this particular clinic? Did you know of anyone using them before? Thanks for your input.
ReplyDeleteBon voyage Brian and the best of luck!
ReplyDeleteHi Emma,
ReplyDeleteActually our first choice was the Pheonix clinic in Delhi but the timing didn't work out for us. We are happy with the arrangement at the Kiran clinic and I think there are a lot of great clinics out there, its just important to find the one you are comfortable with. One piece of advice I can give is to really research whatever clinic you are looking at closely.
Amber
Good luck Brian! We are thinking of you guys this week and praying for a good outcome.
